Our league has six age divisions. A quick description of each division is listed below.

Teams
Mini-Mite

6 and under

This is were all the fun begins. The Mini-Mite group is the youngest of them all. This is wear the kids really learn how to stay on their skates.

Mite

8 and under

In this age group the kids will learn some of the basic fundamental skills of hockey, including skating, puck control, passing and receiving, and goaltending (for the kids that are brave enough to stand between the pipes).

Squirt

10 and under

In this age group the kids will build on their skills from the previous age group. Players will develop some important qualities to hockey such as, quickness, agility, coordination, balance, strength, and flexibility. Players will also start to develop specific skills by positions, offensive and defensive tactics (basic breakout, forecheck, and basic positioning).

Pee-Wee

12 and under

Players will learn simple game situation theory (when to pass, when to shoot, where to pass, and where to shoot). They will also refine and learn more complex offensive and defensive tactics.

Bantam

14 and under

Keep your head up! This is the age group where players are introduced/allowed to use body contact (checking). At this level the players will experience harder hitting and more challenging hockey. The players will further develop the conceptual skills necessary for the enhancement of the team system. This is the age group that really starts to up the speed of the game.

Midget

16 and under ; 18 and under

The infamous Midget age group. Most of the players should have developed a strong understanding of the game and the way it should be played by now. All the skills, tactics, positioning, and game situations the players have learned are being utilized and refined. Even with all of the development the players have gone through; they can, and will, learn and develop more advanced skills.
