Ice Time Per Week (on average):1-2 (60 min.) practices. Practices are normally on the weeknights, but some weekend practices will be scheduled where possible.
Description: Players entering the 12U House level are expected to be proficient skaters and have a basic knowledge of team play. Players should be moderately skilled at basic breakout plays and defensive coverage. They should also possess good individual puck control, shooting and passing skills. Players need to start keeping their head up and may start to see more physical play as they gear up to move into full contact play at the next level. At this level, off-ice conditioning is to be introduced and encouraged.
Practices will be held at the Pensacola Bay Center starting in late October and continuing through March. Practices are usually held twice a week with the possibility of occasional weekend ice time. However, the practice schedule is subject to the ice availability at the Pensacola Bay Center. Practices consist of skills, drills and scrimmage games.
House tournament teams consist of 12-15 skaters and a goalie and are chosen by the coach according to availability and skill level when numbers allow. House teams plan to attend up to two tournaments per year within the Southeast region. Each tournament typically includes four competitive games. The tournament fees are in addition to registration and are determined by the cost of the tournament and the number of players attending. Friendly weekend games with other organizations may also be scheduled throughout the season. Evaluations for Travel and Tournament teams are held in the spring.
The 2022-2023 season fees are $700 for house league players. This includes NFHL membership fees and ice fees for approximately 35-40 practices. A Pensacola Jr. Ice Flyers jersey and socks are available to purchase for $55 during registration. Season fees can be paid in full at the time of registration or through a payment plan. Payment plan payments are due on the 1st of each month. After the initial payment, any monthly installment not paid by the 10th of the month will be assessed a $25 late fee. Players will be restricted from ice time until the account is current.
