Ice Time Per Week (on average): 1-2 (60 min.) practices. Practices are normally on the weeknights, but some weekend practice will be scheduled where possible.
Description:
16U players should be proficient skaters, with full knowledge of gameplay. Coaches will focus on more advanced skills regarding skating and stick-handling. Specialty skills such as plays off the faceoff, and power plays will also be developed. Off-ice conditioning becomes a must at the upper levels.
Practices will be held at the Pensacola Bay Center starting in late October and continuing through March. Practices are usually held twice a week with the possibility of occasional weekend ice time. However, the practice schedule is subject to the ice availability at the Pensacola Bay Center. Practices consist of skills, drills and scrimmage games.
House tournament teams consist of 12-15 skaters and a goalie when numbers allow. They are chosen by the coach according to availability and skill level. Friendly weekend games with other organizations may also be scheduled throughout the season. Evaluations for Travel, Tournament and Select teams are held in the spring, but you may contact us if you are new to the area.
The 2021-2022 season fees are $700 for house league players. This includes NFHL membership fees and ice fees for approximately 35-40 practices. A Pensacola Jr. Ice Flyers jerseys and socks can be purchased for $55 during registration. Season fees can be paid in full at the time of registration or through a payment plan. Payment plan payments are due on the 1st of each month. After the initial payment, any monthly installment not paid by the 10th of the month will be assessed a $25 late fee. Players will be restricted from ice time until the account is current.
