Thank you, We look forward to you joining our hockey family.
We are excited to be able to offer you the opportunity to show your youth hockey spirit and support Pensacola Junior Ice Flyers with our mask and neck buff/gaiter fundraiser!
Proceeds from the sale will benefit our PJIF boys and girls this upcoming season.
The Neck Gaiters are perfect for our PJIF players to wear to the rink and while off the Ice. Easy to just pull up when needed and pulled down while on the ice. Most of the rinks will be requiring masks in order to enter, what better way to show your team spirit.

My name is Maggie Madigan and I am from Detroit, Michigan. Due to my older brother’s influence, I began playing hockey at the age of 5, and immediately fell in love with the sport. Throughout my childhood, I played for hockey clubs all over the metro-detroit area to include Belle Tire, Little Caesars, and Compuware. Upon receiving a few different offers to play college hockey, I knew that I wanted to serve my country, and so I chose to play college hockey at the club level in order to attend the United States Naval Academy. I graduated with a BS in Cyber Operations as a member of the Class of 2020. I am a newly commissioned Navy Pilot, I am currently attending flight school here in Pensacola. I am very excited to be a part of the Jr. Ice Flyers program and I look forward to a great season!
Good day parents, players, and all of the PJIF community,
Your board has been working hard to get what information we have and apply it to our upcoming season. We still are in a holding pattern as to when the Bay Center will have ice available. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues and state regulations adjust to the numbers, the Bay Center is doing their utmost duty to keep us safe and follow proper guidelines. As more information becomes available we will get that out to you as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we are working on our scheduling plans, certifications, and being fully prepared to launch as soon as able. We have had a great response for volunteer coaches, our new goalie coaches program is doing well, and thank you to everyone that has put in your applications. All of our coaches, team managers, locker room monitors, board members and team volunteers; please make sure you are registered with USAH, you will need that registration number. You will need to take the SafeSport training, and have a background check through USAHockey (https://www.usahockey.com/safesportprogram) . This needs to be done ASAP. Register your USAHockey Number with PJIF here : http://assn.la/Reg/?r=3:202850
We have coaches assigned thanks to our Coach in Chief. If you are a returning player, or attended travel team evaluations in March and have not heard from your age group coach please email email@example.com for a contact. If you are a new player to our organization; thank you for your interest, and please email firstname.lastname@example.org to inquire as to whom your age group coach will be. We are considering holding an additional travel team evaluation for skaters that were not able to attend in March or are new to the area. This would ONLY be for new players or players that DID NOT attend evaluations in March, and is completely contingent on ice availability and time. For 10U, a tournament/travel team interest survey was emailed out, if you haven't received one or are new to the area and would like to be a part of the 10U tournament/travel team, please email email@example.com to request one.
Please check out our new "Coach Spotlight" as we honor one of our new coaches to the program, Miss Maggie Madigan. She comes to us from the US Naval Academy, she is in the Pensacola area for pilot training and has graciously volunteered her time to come assist our players. Check out her bio, and USAH article link she is spotlighted in. We are very excited to have her on the team!
Thank you everyone for your continued patience during this process, we are doing our best to keep the program going while we wait for ice. The league has discussed pushing the start of the travel season into November to give rinks a chance to get up and running, and players/coaches a chance to get some practice in before having to compete. We are having to be creative in ways to make sure the league is supported, our payers get the fullest advantage possible and we can still have a fun and successful season.
Good day to all in the Pensacola Jr Ice Flyer's community!
I hope all is going well with everyone as we salivate over the idea of getting back on the ice. This past weekend, your board got together and discussed further planning for the upcoming season. We will post the minutes to our meetings as they get approved by the board for accuracy for your convenience, so please keep a look out on our webpage and social media for those.
Somethings to note from our recent meeting. We have a bunch of coaching applications pouring in; thank you to all that have submitted, we appreciate you! And keep spreading the word, the more the better. We will be in contact with you soon to confirm your acceptance as a coach. We are working on getting the required classes scheduled to assist with coaching certifications, please stay tuned for more on that.
One area we want to concentrate on is getting applications in for Goalie specific coaches. We want to provide our goalies just as much coaching as our skaters. We are working close with Dan Bucella our coach-in-chief on getting our coaches the best support we can provide through the year.
We also need as many coaches that can volunteer to assist with Learn to Play program. This program is the foundation of our league and vital to the success of our youth teams. Without enough coaches we can't accommodate enough players, the more coaches, the more players we can allow. So to all the current coaches, those who have volunteered for next year and any would be coaches, please let us know if you are interested in helping the learn to skate program.
We also discussed many other topics such as jerseys, practices, games, ice time, etc. We are still working these items and will keep you apprised as we know more. In the coming weeks, if you have any questions please reach out to your coaches, or send an email to
